review Taijiku author Elizabeth Andre Ï eBook or Kindle ePUB Taijiku author Elizabeth AndThis short story has a lot of potential but it’s plagued with problems Firstly I didn’t get along with the writing style at all it was too clunky and inconsistent for me There’s a lot of info dumping at the start followed by a lot of tell action then when it does come to showing things they’re done in a distant way that robbed them of any tension or emotion There’s one particular moment that should have been horrifying but it was just remarked on and that was it Unpleasant but it didn’t bother me – and it really should have I didn’t feel anything during the following scenes either and again I should have

review Taijiku author Elizabeth Andre Ï eBook or Kindle ePUB Taijiku author Elizabeth AndI wanted so badly to enjoy this book The premise seemed fascinating The problem is that it reads very much like a short moment in history preuel to a much larger story I want the story that takes place ten years afterward when Angela is captain of her own kaiju hunting ship when the alien and monster elements are explained or at least elaborated upon when she succeeds in triumphing over Taijiku at last Maybe some planet hopping for good measure And I'd really like Stella to either gain a personality or for Angela to find someone she actually clicks with because these two had practically no chemistry whatsoever I think I was nearly at the end of the book before I realized that Stella was in fact supposed

review Taijiku author Elizabeth Andre Ï eBook or Kindle ePUB Taijiku author Elizabeth AndOh I'm sorry I wanted to like this but the best it could do was workmanlike It read like the outline of a good story but everything here is a flat statement There's no feeling no depth of character no emotional sense of the stakes It was a series of bald statements of fact and that made it hard to pick out the stuff that mattered Just super meh
