Eat Naked Read ☆ 2 Eat NakedIt took me weeks to read this book because I devoured it slowly savoring the knowledge and nutritional information For decades I have been eating in a way I considered pretty healthy and I've been a vegetarian for ten years But reading Margaret Floyd's common sense response to nature and the way our bodies work made me re think many of my eating habits Slowly chapter by chapter I made slight changes in my food choices My lifestyle in terms of nutrition has been revolutionized and I'm loving the results Floyd writes with a personable fluent non clinical style using clean simple sentences in short paragraphs within brief chapters Though she has a vast knowledge of nutritional science and the credentials to back it up she distills all that to give us the essence of what we want to know How do we choose the foods that will offer the most benefit to our bodies Eat Naked is highly recommended not just for foodies but for those who want to 'eat

Eat Naked Read ☆ 2 Eat NakedI am fairly impressed with Margaret Floyd’s book She has a very engaging voice which doesn’t talk at you but talks to you She doesn't try to use any big words to impress you Floyd peppers her advice and suggestions with personal anecdotes so that Floyd becomes a person rather than a name She also made it clear from the beginning that this book isn’t about a “get slim uick” diet but about how to live a healthy lifestyle and why we should I naturally get skeptical whenever someone force feeds me statistical data but she backs it up with plenty of references Another thing I liked was how she takes into consideration the fact that most of us have a budget we need to work with She sets aside certain tips for how we can get around the money issue Although it doesn’t really detract from the reader’s experience Floyd has a tendency to repeat herself She has said “eat naked” and “your body is wise” so many times that they

Eat Naked Read ☆ 2 Eat NakedOne reason that nutrition is confusing is people like Margaret Floyd write about it when they have no business doing so Floyd's bio says she is a nutritional therapy practitioner certified holistic health counselor certified healing foods specialist and certified member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners What do these descriptions mean and who does the certifying Floyd doesn't tell the reader Notice the lack of capital letters I'm surprised she didn't throw in that she was a community organizer when she wrote her bio In this book Floyd makes several inaccurate statements with little or no data to back up her claims For example she states that soy damages the thyroid gland and therefore should be avoided I have a thyroid disorder and know that there is no conclusive evidence that those with thyroid problems should avoid soy Further she ad

Eat Naked Read ☆ 2 Eat NakedI was truly enriched by this book The author is so informative but not pushy in her suggestions Margaret makes it clear that this is not something you should try to do from one day to the next She explains how you should start off by changing one thing from your everyday eating with a whole raw natural food This is a book that has encouraged me to continue on my path to a healthy whole

Eat Naked Read ☆ 2 Eat NakedOne great thing about this book is that even if your household has one person eating vegan and one eating the standard American diet as my household does there is something for everyone in this book Whatever your current dietary regimen this book gives you ideas on how to clean it up a bit and swap out okay choices for better choices One of the good tips If the food comes in a box touting it's health benefits it's probably not very healthy She points the choice between say an apple or a granola bar Something really healthy like an apple or an orange doesn't come with all that marketing Whereas a granola bar is processed and is going to be sold to you in a box that tries to convince you how healthy it is She emphasizes trying to stay away from boxed packaged foods even the so called hea

Eat Naked Read ☆ 2 Eat NakedInformative Some of the explanations are a little technical but there is a lot of information here for such a short book The idea is to eat healthier not diet and to not eat so much over processed food I was afraid it would be all nuts and berries but she's not even a vegetarian I liked the parts about not feeling guilty over what you eat and to conc
